Superhit Tanu Weds Manu Movie Still Going Strong at Box Office

| March 19, 2011 | 3 Comments

First hand Tanu Weds Manu Box Office Report. It is heartening to see my debut movie “Tanu Weds Manu” become the second superhit of 2011. Inspite of the ongoing world cup fever and student exams, all of you have given the film its status.

And it is still going strong at the box office with its third week expected to finish very close to 5 crore nett.  The film will be on around 32.25 crore nett business after three weeks which already makes it the second biggest nett grosser of the year. (as of 1th march). The collection this week is still to be announced at the box office collections.

Tanu Weds Manu movie still has an open run in its fourth weekend and fifth weeks so has a chance to add another 5 crore nett business to its tally for a 37 crore nett lifetime total as per the trade pundits.

I hope all this translates to my music reaching more listeners as well. Students who have missed out watching this superhit movie also have ample chance to catch up with a show, :) cos there are still multiple screnings running everywhere.

Did you know, I got my first break into Bollywood with the song, “Manu Bhaiya”. You will hear it only in the film because it was not a part of the promotion on tv. Tell me if you like this particular one (Track 5 above) and leave your comments as well.

    Krsna,

Many congratulations on an absolutely thrilling debut as a music director in Bollywood! I watched Tanu weds Manu over this weekend (having never been exposed to the music before). Half way through the movie, the main thing that got stuck in my head was this music director is freaking awesome – who is this? As soon as I got out of the theater, I got the CD and have been listening to it non-stop forever since. What an absolutely amazing sound-track! Last time, I was so impressed with a music director debut was with Roja.

Every single track is unique and brings something new in its own genre. My current favorite is Yun Hi (but the favorite changes every day since I have started listening :) ). Mohit’s silky voice does full justice to your composition and for a moment it makes me wish Kishore Kumar was alive and how this song would have sounded in his voice.

We – all fans – expect great things from you and hope to hear more of your music.

Thank you Osho, im too waiting to get on the roll. Sure will try new things every time. And you snatched words from my mouth. I miss Kishore too. I wish the legend was alive. Would have been my day. But not just music, I hope to introduce new artists as well in near future.
      Thanks man

    Dear Krsna.
Congrates for Wonderful music. Music change you tension free.Such type of Music take you to smell of ‘Dharti ki Mitti’,Local UP words & music particularly in’Mannu Baiya’ song Aah!!! what a wonderful haarmonium & train track sound. Dil jhoom utha after long time. This type of happiness I found in O P Nayyarsaab music when I was young. Keep it up to give our traditional touch in music world.Instead of western music our music has a melody & riytham & ofcourse ‘mitti ki sugandh’.==Madhavi R Vyas.
